Leading Laser Projector Brand Optoma Achieves WiSA SoundSend Certification

Optoma’s laser projectors UHZ35ST, UHZ55 and UHZ66 joins WiSA Association growing roster of 4K UHD home theater projectors offering wireless, interoperable home theater experiences

SAN JOSE, Calif. (April 30, 2024) – WiSA Association, a subsidiary of WiSA Technologies, Inc. (NASDAQ: WISA), and Optoma, the nation’s leading 4K UHD and DLP® laser projection brand*, announced today that its UHZ35ST, UHZ55 and UHZ66 4K UHD laser projectors have received WiSA SoundSend Certification. The certification creates a benchmark for high quality audio experience and verifies projectors, TVs and other sources work flawlessly with the award-winning WiSA SoundSend wireless audio transmitter, as well as the anticipated WiSA SoundSend E launch.

“We are excited to achieve WiSA SoundSend Certification for the UHZ35ST, UHZ55 and UHZ66 4K UHD laser projectors and expand our line-up of solutions that seamlessly integrates with WiSA SoundSend wireless audio transmitters,” said Brian Soto, Director of Product Management, Optoma. “By connecting a WiSA SoundSend to our projectors and WiSA Certified speakers, consumers can easily create exceptional, immersive home entertainment experiences across all types of content including music movies, TV, sports and gaming.”

The Association is witnessing a growing number of WiSA SoundSend-Certified TVs and projectors as the industry continues to focus on ways to bring immersive audio into homes in simple and efficient ways. Connecting a WiSA SoundSend to any of these projectors allows seamless and wireless connectivity with audio systems up to eight channels, including 5.1.2 Dolby Atmos. In addition, a SoundSend Certification assures Association members’ products will work seamlessly with future WiSA SoundSend versions.

“We’re thrilled to certify these great new solutions from Optoma, the leading 4K UHD and DLP laser projection brand in the Americas according to PMA Research, as they grow their impressive roster of projectors supporting WiSA technologies,” said Tony Ostrom, WiSA President. “WiSA SoundSend Certification is setting a benchmark for excellence in audio experiences using WiSA Certified speakers.”

The WiSA SoundSend is the Association’s first branded product, built to create a seamless connection between speakers and sources such as smart TVs and projectors. The transmitter was awarded the Smart Home Division Mark of Excellence from the Consumer Technology Association (CTA) and the Dealerscope IMPACT Award. Connection to smart TVs, projectors, set-top-boxes and speakers is easy with the SoundSend; simply plug it into the source via HDMI® (or optical) connection and the SoundSend flawlessly and wirelessly connects to speakers. Setup takes only 10 minutes and allows complete control via the SoundSend mobile app.
