Job Description

THIS POSITION IS ELIGIBLE FOR HYBRID SCHEDULE 3 DAYS IN OFFICE TO OUR CORPORATE OFFICE IN FREMONT, CA AND 2 DAYS TELECOMMUTE.

The Director, Commercial Product Manager (PM) will lead the strategy, development, and successful execution of our commercial strategies for the Optoma Americas products.  You will report directly to the President and will partner with the internal key stakeholders to help align our strategies and opportunities across all product lines.  

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

 Working with the Marketing and Sales team on ensuring existing products and newly developed items fare well in the market.  

 Support our ambitious growth plans, this role will be strategic in helping us drive the disciplines and strategies we need to make the right investments that support revenue growth opportunities within our existing portfolio, new customers, and markets. 

 Critical in helping unify and defend a robust commercial and product prioritization, building good decision-making across teams, ensuring we take strategic led decisions that deliver results to our business.

 Monitoring product performance, determining strength and weaknesses in the marketing strategy, and providing suggestions and recommendations to improve sales and market positions, including engaging with customers, partners, and our internal team to lead an aligned commercial strategy that informs go-to-market strategy and delivers plans which will exceed our commercial goals. 

 Integrating internal and external data and inputs, driving a vision and a commercial strategy that grows new revenue, upsell opportunities, customer adoption, margin, and market share.

 Develop deep customer/market insights to understand which capabilities and use cases will be of the highest commercial value and best position to accelerate and generate new revenue opportunities

 Building multi-year commercials plans aligned to outcome-driven product roadmaps, working with the Product Management team to align across all areas and define a common method and with working internal team to develop approach for new product planning, business justification, verification, forecasting and pricing.

 Execute business objectives and drive sales growth across the Americas

 Experienced full lifecycle product management skills across a portfolio of product and service lines with proven record of defining and executing to deliver revenue growth

 History of prioritization and pricing across complex products with multiple products and service lines

 Review technology trends and suppliers to ensure a timely and informed product development roadmap, investigate new technology partners in line with business needs

 Lead role in key US events, InfoComm / CES / etc.

 Develop and make presentations of company products and services, maintain records and prepare reports as requested 

 Monitor competitor market conditions and product development

 Must be able to travel up to 20% internationally and domestically

 Perform other work-related duties as assigned

Candidate Specification

• Bachelor’s degree required could be in Business, Marketing or Product Management

• Minimum of 7-10 years’ experience and a demonstrated track record of accomplishments in the industry

• Demonstrated ability to lead people and get results through others

• Ability to think ahead and plan over a one to three year time span

• Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities

• Problem analysis and problem resolution at both a strategic and functional level

• Technical skills in strategic planning and marketing, business and market development, market research and planning and promotions/advertising

• Must work effectively with senior-level executives and staff; must also be able to work independently

• Must have a strong interpersonal skills and good judgment and be capable of communicating with a diverse range of individuals

• Excellent computer skills including all MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) required

• Must have strong customer support orientation (for internal/external customers), demonstrated professional demeanor, and the ability to maintain confidential information
