Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Vice President of Sales to lead our sales team in North America. You will be responsible for profitable growth, developing our customer base, and building/maintaining a high-performance sales team. You will work closely with the executive leadership team to develop plans to achieve corporate goals.

The Vice President of Sales will lead and develop the sales team to achieve and exceed targets while developing and implementing effective sales strategies to drive profitable growth and increase market share. The candidate must have a proven track record of successful leadership and possess excellent communication and relationship-building skills. 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide sales leadership and coaching for B2b, B2c, Distribution and DMR channels

• Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy to drive profitable growth and increase market share. Expand Optoma’s customer base to align with corporate objectives

• Monitor and analyze sales metrics to identify areas for improvement and adjust sales strategies accordingly

• Develop and maintain a deep understanding of market trends, customer needs, and the competitive landscape

• Recruit/mentor team to achieve targets, build a culture of success and goal achievement

• Define and oversee sales compensation, incentive programs, training

• Analyze and evaluate the effectiveness of sales structure, methods, costs, and results

• Manage potential channel conflict between sales channels 

• Outline/manage sales budget, set quarterly and annual sales goals, provide detailed sales forecasting, P&L responsibility

• Accurately forecast future sales, develop business strategies to adapt to market shifts

• Review customer activity, anticipate consumer needs and improve customer satisfaction

• Manage key customer relationships and participate in closing strategic opportunities

• Accurately forecast future sales, develop business strategies to adapt to market shifts

• Monitor the market and competitor products and activities 

• Work collaboratively with all departments to drive cross functional initiatives.

• Work closely with marketing team to establish successful channel and partner programs

• Travel for in-person customer meetings, key partner and management meetings

Candidate Specification

• Minimum of 10 years of experience in a Sales Leadership role.

• Proven, successful USA sales channel experience in a similar role is essential, experience in Canadian and Latin markets would be beneficial.

• Experience in AV/Display or Technology (hardware) marketplace is desirable.

• In-depth knowledge of selling strategies, as well as employee motivation techniques.

• Proven track record in sales and strategic growth in the technology market. 

• Excellent leadership, communication, interpersonal, planning, and organizational skills 

• Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, Word software.  

• Master’s degree in a business-related field is preferred.

• Ability to travel up to 50%.
