Optoma Launches Its First True 16:9 Native Digital Projector to Match-Up with Today’s Widescreen Notebooks
The Optoma EP1690 Delivers Widescreen Versatility and Crossover Appeal for Office and Home Applications
Orlando (June 7, 2006) – Optoma, one of the leading manufacturers of digital projection and display devices, introduces the EP1690 projector. A native 16:9 projector, the EP1690 delivers performance and picture quality for today’s widescreen notebooks, the latest DVD releases and high-definition content. Stylish, lightweight and amazingly versatile, the EP1690 goes from laptop to big screen home entertainment easily.
The EP1690 features Optoma's exclusive Widescreen Maximizer™ which guarantees perfect picture matching between the video source and the projector. The Widescreen Maximizer software, downloaded for free from http://www.optomausa.com/, provides the fastest and easiest way to match notebook video resolutions with the EP1690.
With a DarkChip2™ DLP® chipset and BrilliantColor™ technology, both by Texas Instruments, the EP1690 projects high-quality images. The BrilliantColor color processing technology, along with the 2500 lumens and 2500:1 contrast ratio of the EP1690, ensures that the projector delivers higher brightness and provides truer, more vibrant colors to the picture on display.
Optoma's EP1690 includes extensive connectivity options, including DVI w/HDCP, as well as four audio and video inputs. The projector also features a built-in 3-watt speaker, making the EP1690 a true multimedia projector for office and home entertainment use.
The EP1690's Express on/off function allows the projector to power on/off in mere seconds. The projector also has a lower noise level usually associated with other typical data projectors. Optoma's patent pending “wind tunnel” cooling system is designed for near-silent operation with minimal light leakage.
