Latest Portable Projectors from Optoma Shine Brightly and Reduce Users’ Operating Costs
Designed for Business and Education, the New ES522 and EX532 Offer Low Cost of Operation and Built-In Closed Captioning

Milpitas, CA (July 13, 2009) Optoma Technology, Inc., the award-winning manufacturer of digital projection and display devices, has introduced the ES522 and EX532, two new portable DLP® projectors designed to offer corporate and educational users a brighter, less costly solution in rooms seating up to 30 people. Complete with high-efficiency lamps that put out 2800 ANSI lumens, and with important built-in features such as closed captioning, both the ES522 and EX532 deliver a contrast ratio of 3000:1 and provide the brightness required to project easy-to-read images in most ambient light conditions.

“The ES522 and EX532 fill an important niche in the corporate and educational markets,” said Jon Grodem, director of product and marketing for Optoma. “Both models offer easy-to-view large-screen images for mid-sized rooms, low maintenance and reduced operating costs required by our customers.”

The ES522 and EX532 offer a lamp life rating of up to 3000 hours when operating in bright mode, and both employ efficient design features that reduce maintenance and lower the cost of ownership. The monitor pass-through is active while the projector is in standby mode. Like all Optoma projectors, both the ES522 and EX532 have filter-free design. The ES522 and EX532 also feature low power consumption of 230 watts in bright mode, saving energy and lowering operating costs.

The ES522 delivers a native SVGA (800x600) resolution, while the EX532’s native resolution is XGA (1024x786). Both offer a maximum resolution of WUXGA 1920x1200.

Both new projectors offer a full range of inputs for computers, video and audio sources, including VGA-In, S-Video, Composite Video, RCA Stereo Audio-In, Stereo Mini-Jack Audio-Out, RS-232, and Mini-USB. The EX532 also includes a second VGA-in and a VGA-out for increased flexibility.

The ES522 and EX532 weigh 5.5 lbs and measure 11.0” x 3.2” x 8.1”. A full-featured remote control with laser pointer, mouse and page up/down functions is standard for both projectors, and both offer a one-year parts and labor warranty on the projector and 90 days on the lamp.
