OPTOMA WINS FIRST “MARK OF EXCELLENCE” AWARD FOR HD VIDEO PROJECTOR
Consumer Electronics Industry Award Recognizes Achievement And Innovation In Home Products for Custom Installation
Milpitas, Calif. | April XX, 2010 | Optoma Technology announced that the Consumer Electronics Association has selected the company to receive a 2010 Mark of Excellence award for its HD8600 high definition home video projector. The annual Mark of Excellence Awards recognize outstanding achievement and innovation in home electronics for custom installation. The projector, with a suggested price of $6999, is the only video display product costing under $15,000 to win the coveted CEA recognition this year. This is Optoma’s first Mark of Excellence award.
“Winning a Mark of Excellence award says unequivocally that Optoma has arrived as a top-tier video brand,” said Jon Grodem, Senior Director of Product and Marketing. “The HD8600 is a barrier-breaking product, and for custom installers and consumers shopping for a truly superb home theater projector, it deserves a very close look. We packed a lot of innovative thinking and technology into this new model, and we appreciate the judges’ favorable response.”
Among the projector’s innovative features, according to Grodem, is to offer interchangeable lens options to best suit the design of the home theater while optimizing performance. It also offers full horizontal and vertical “lens shift” adjustments for fast, precise positioning of the video image, Optoma’s proprietary PureMotion2™ technology for improved image quality, and the Imaging Science Foundation’s certified calibration configuration (ISFccc) to allow professional installers to fine tune settings to better meet the demands of the end-user’s viewing environment. This combination of features and technology are typically found on projectors costing over $10,000, Grodem said.
